꿈, 무기력, 이방인

작품에는 꿈, 불안, 무기력, 그리고 편안한 이방인이 주된 소재로 등장한다.
그림에 등장하는 인물 대부분은 이방인들이다. 나와 개인적인 관계는 없지만 살아가며 마주치는 수많은 사람들은 누구일지 모른다는 불확실성에서 비롯된 불안함을 느끼게 한다. 그러나 동시에 이들은 나와 무관하기에 묘한 편안함도 주는 존재들이다. 표정 없이 그저 다른 색상과 형태로만 존재하는 이방인들 사이에는 누워있는 사람이 있다. 그는 안정을 취하기 위해서가 아니라 너무 무기력해서 누워있다. 일어나고 싶지만 마음대로 되지 않아 가만히 있다. 표정도 잃은 채 자기 기능을 하지 못하는 팔과 다리만 덜렁거릴 뿐이다. 이방인들과 누워있는 사람 사이는 불분명한 형상들로 채워져 있다.
꿈을 꾸면서 느끼는 듯한 감정과 잠이 들기 직전에 느껴지는 현실과 비현실 사이의 묘한 기분을 물감, 목탄, 색연필, 볼펜 등에 의한 다양한 질감의 면과 선으로 표현하였다.
Dreams, anxiety, lethargy, and comfortable strangers appear as the main subjects in the work.
Most of the characters in the painting are strangers. Although they have no personal relationship with me, it makes me feel anxious because of the uncertainty that I do not know who the countless people I encounter in my life will be. However, at the same time, they give a peculiar sense of comfort due to their detachment from me. There is a person lying between strangers who exist only in different colors and forms without expressions. He is lying down not to find peace but due to overwhelming lethargy. I want to get up, but I am still because I cannot do as I please. He has lost his expression and only his arms and legs are shaky. The strangers and the people lying down are filled with unclear figures.
The feeling of dreaming and the strange feeling between reality and unreality right before falling asleep are expressed in various textures and lines by paint, charcoal, colored pencils, and ballpoint pens.
