As freedom of thought and expression is guaranteed and material abundance grows, the range of choices we can make has expanded. However, the more options we have, the deeper the struggle to determine what constitutes the "better choice," and with it comes the increasing fear of responsibility and regret over those decisions. The ability to choose signifies the existence of freedom, but we are often pressured to make choices before fully considering them, or swept away by external influences, preventing us from selecting what we truly desire.
For everyone living at countless crossroads of choice, we present the <exhibition Art & Innovation: uhhhh Moment> at the Daegu Arts Center The six participating artists, drawing from their perspectives and experiences, use a variety of media and techniques—painting, drawing, video, interactive art, and virtual reality—to express the struggles surrounding choice in the language of art. At the intersection of diverse thoughts and individual reflections, we hope this exhibition will offer viewers the chance to reflect on the weight and meaning of choice and discover new possibilities for perception.
